Hacked: How hackers gained access to the networks of millions of Indian households
An Indian company has hacked into the networks and email of millions and used the data to create a ‘banking’ app.
The app was allegedly launched on the pretext of making money.
The data was stolen by hackers in December.
The attack came on the heels of an attack on a popular Indian website which exposed the data of more than 5.5 million users and a leak of the names, addresses and mobile phone numbers of hundreds of thousands of people.
The data breach comes after an incident in which a group of hackers stole sensitive data from a number of banks.
India’s cybercrime unit is investigating the attack.
