What it takes to design a high-end web-based podcasting platform with a premium approach
Posted June 25, 2018 08:05:50A premium podcasting podcasting service like Epon, which is owned by Hearst, has a long way to go to break even and become profitable.
The company launched a new business model on Monday, offering $200,000 per month in equity and an unlimited number of listeners.
The service allows users to create their own podcasts, and can also stream audio from any app, including iTunes and the likes.
While the service will be able to pay its creators in monthly installments, users are still responsible for paying all the other costs associated with running a podcast, such as hiring an editor, paying for equipment and licensing.
Epon’s service is built on a proprietary platform that allows it to handle the costs associated of running its own podcasts.
The company launched the service at the end of March and launched it as a free service to those who had subscribed to its podcasting app.
It has since expanded its reach and has launched podcasts in over 20 countries.
To make sure its platform is affordable, the company is offering investors $50,000 to $200 million in equity in a stock option package.
That is, investors will receive a 20 percent stake in the company and the rest will go to a separate pool for its executives.
Epon CEO Matt Grosberg said that the service is designed to provide an affordable, easy-to-use platform for podcasting.
“It will enable podcasting to be more accessible and enjoyable to everyone,” Grosburg said in a statement.
Like many podcasts, podcasts are free to listen to.
The biggest problem with podcasting, however, is that it takes up a lot of storage space.
Podcasting is expensive, but it also can be quite a hassle to get started.
It takes time to develop, buy, and install an audio player, which means that podcasting can take a long time to get off the ground.
For that reason, many podcasting companies have moved to the more streamlined and automated formats of other services like Spotify and Apple Music.
Instead of having to buy an expensive podcast player to play your favorite podcasts, Epon has been able to offer a free subscription that includes access to its website and podcasting apps.
